Zhejiang "BA" Fuyang Division competition begins July 13th

The 2025 Zhejiang City Basketball League (Zhejiang BA), the largest and highest-level mass basketball tournament in the province, will be held across the province from July 2025 to February 2026. The competition will consist of a preliminary round and a city championship tournament, with 90 counties (cities, and districts) from 11 prefecture-level cities participating.

The Hangzhou preliminaries for the Zhejiang BA will be held in two zones, the Eastern and Western, with a single round-robin format. The Western zone will be held at the Fuyang District Sports Center Gymnasium. Participating teams are Yuhang, Fuyang, Lin'an, Tonglu, Chun'an, and Jiande. The top two teams in each group will advance to the second round of knockout matches, which will be held from July 13th to 21st.

After layers of selection, 18 players were selected for the "Zhejiang BA" Fuyang District team roster, they are Ye Chaojie, Zhang Ju, Lu Yunxuan, Zhao Pengfei, Shi Hanghai, Hua Mingjie, Tong Jiankai, Zhang Jiafei, Zhou Jianke, Xu Zewei, Sun Danfeng, Xia Yanrong, Dong Yufan, He Junfu, Chen Nibo, Sun Jianghao, Zhou Yongqi, and Chen Shiyi.

These players are battle-hardened and highly skilled. Ye Chaojie was both the champion player and coach of the 2024 Fuyang District Basketball Super League; Lü Yunxuan was a key player on the championship team of the 6th Hundred Villages Tournament and the Finals MVP; and Xu Zewei was a key player on the championship team of the 5th Hundred Villages Tournament and the Finals MVP. Each player has excelled in past Hundred Villages Tournaments and numerous other basketball tournaments.

"The establishment of the Hangzhou Fuyang team coincides with the Hundred Villages Tournament. We have established a team based on the existing Fuyang team and recruited elite players from various villages to form this team for the Zhejiang BA Hangzhou Division," said Lü Yunxuan, captain of the Zhejiang BA Hangzhou Fuyang team. They will conduct a series of intensive training sessions to strive for strong results in the Hangzhou Division.

This year's Hundred Villages Tournament is the largest in history, attracting 112 teams and 1,344 athletes from 112 administrative villages. Over a month, they will compete in 260 matches to compete for the championship.

The competition was held in nine competition zones: Minlian Village in Dongzhou Subdistrict; Dadi Village, Jinzhu Village, and Guanqian Village (Zhougongwu) in Yinhu Subdistrict; Chunjiang Village and Shanjian Village in Chunjiang Subdistrict; Yuan Village in Xindeng Town; the Changlv Town Basketball Hall; and Xinguan Village in Dayuan Town. This year, even more people will be able to watch the exciting games right at their doorstep.

"With a larger scale and more matches, the Hundred Villages Basketball Tournament will surely ignite the entire summer again." Jiang Jianjun, Party Secretary and Director of the District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, said that basketball is Fuyang's top sport and is deeply loved by the people of Fuyang. The district will actively promote the in-depth integration of "sports events + agriculture, culture and tourism." In addition to participating in and watching the games, the district will also organize markets, connect major scenic spots, supermarkets, restaurants, etc., to enrich consumption scenarios and ignite economic vitality. After the opening ceremony, the opening match of the Hundred Villages Tournament officially began, pitting Xinguan Village from Dayuan Town against Chunjian Village from Chunjian Township. Xinguan Village ultimately triumphed 69-61, securing their first win of the season.

At the start of the match, Jiang Chengtao and Luo Zhouke from Xinguan Village hit consecutive three-pointers, quickly boosting morale. Chunjian Village's Xu Jiangtao and Wang Xintao were hot on their heels. From then on, the two teams engaged in a fierce, stalemate.

In the third quarter, Jiang Junlong of Xinguan Village played well and gradually widened the gap. After that, they played steadily, controlled the rhythm and maintained their advantage. Although Chunjian Village increased its offensive strength, it failed to turn the tables and unfortunately lost.

"On the court, my son and I are like comrades-in-arms. We communicate while playing and often remind him to play more steadily and not to be anxious." Jiang Qibin said that Xinguancun failed to advance to the top 32 last year and hopes to make some progress this year.

Xu Jiangtao scored 20 points in this match, showing an outstanding performance. "This is my first time playing in the Hundred Villages Tournament. Playing my first match in the gymnasium with so many people watching, I'm nervous and excited. I'll strive to perform better and better in the future," Xu Jiangtao said.
